In 1996 the college was upgraded and it started Post Graduation classes in the Departments of English, Physical Education and Chemistry. Soon research become an integral part of the college and the staff began guiding PhD scholars and 29 students were successfully awarded the degree in the department of physical education. Research continues in the department of Chemistry.
